Accessibility
We want the Hall to be welcoming and usable for everyone.
- The accessible ramp entrance is on the west side of the building.
- The venue is all on one floor.
- Restrooms are accessible.
- Seating is individual moveable chairs, so we can usually adjust seating as needed.
- Service animals are welcome.

Dress code
There’s no dress code — come as you are. Some folks make a night of it, some come straight from work, and both are perfect. It can get chilly in the Hall, so an extra layer isn’t a bad idea.
We do ask that clothing be appropriate for a shared public space. Items with offensive text/images — or anything that blocks other patrons’ view (like large hats) — may be asked to be removed.
Admission to events and latecomers
You’ll need a valid ticket to enter the event. Tickets are only valid for the event/date listed.
Arrive early: We recommend arriving 15 minutes before the start time.
Late arrivals: We do our best to start on time. If you arrive late, you may need to wait for an appropriate break to be seated, and you may be directed to a different seat so we can minimize disruption. If that happens, you can move to your original seat when it’s appropriate.
Re-entry: Re-entry policies can vary by show. If you need to step out, check with Front of House staff. Please keep your ticket handy — we can’t allow re-entry without it.
Venue basics
- Doors typically open about 30 minutes before showtime (unless the event page says otherwise).
- Please keep your personal belongings with you. Anything you bring into the seating area should fit on your lap or completely under your seat without blocking aisles.
- Ticket holders attend events at their own risk. Please use reasonable care on stairs/thresholds and in crowded areas.
Age recommendations, children, and babes in arms
Most events at Historic Memorial Hall are designed with adults in mind. As a general rule, we recommend our performances for ages 12–13 and up, since some shows may include adult themes or language. If a production is especially family-friendly (or has specific content guidance), we’ll note that on the event page and in any pre-show emails.
Children under 6 and babes in arms are not permitted during performances unless the event is specifically intended for young audiences. Unaccompanied minors age 12 and under are not permitted in the theatre.
Questions about content or age-appropriateness? Email friends@friendsofthehallvt.org.
Food, refreshments, and alcohol
Most productions offer light refreshments and concessions, and select events will also include a cash bar.
Outside alcohol is not permitted — patrons may not bring their own alcoholic beverages into Historic Memorial Hall.
Photography, video, and personal devices
Before and after the show: Feel free to take photos in public/lobby areas and share them. We love seeing your night at The Hall. Tag @friendsofthehallvt on Instagram and Facebook to spread the love!
During the performance: Phones and recording devices (photo/video/audio) are not permitted during performances. Please silence and put away devices — screen glow and vibrations are distracting for both artists and audience.
Event photography: From time to time, we may photograph or record an event (including the audience) for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed, please let Front of House staff know and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Changes and communications
Programs, dates, and artists are subject to change. If a significant change affects your event, we’ll make reasonable efforts to notify ticket holders using the contact info provided at purchase. For the latest details, always check the event page.
Smoking
For everyone’s comfort, no smoking or vaping is permitted inside the building.
Lost and found
If you’ve lost an item, email friends@friendsofthehallvt.org with a description and the date of the event. We’ll do our best to track it down.
Ticketing Terms
Official ticket sales and resale
Tickets should be purchased through our official ticket link(s), unless an event page clearly states otherwise. When in doubt, email friends@friendsofthehallvt.org and we’ll confirm what’s legitimate.
Tickets purchased through unofficial sellers or resellers may be fake, duplicated, canceled, or invalid — and you may be refused admission. We can’t validate, replace, reprint, or refund tickets that weren’t purchased through our official sales channel.
Tickets may not be resold for more than the original purchase price, and may not be used for advertising, promotions, contests, giveaways, or sweepstakes without written approval from Friends.
Payments and fees
Payment is required at the time of purchase. Any applicable fees will be shown at checkout.
Refunds and exchanges
Policies can vary by event. Please check the event page for the most accurate information. If you have a question, contact friends@friendsofthehallvt.org.
Community expectations
We want everyone to have a great night at Historic Memorial Hall. Please be kind to our team and to each other — we’re all sharing the same space, and a little respect goes a long way. We expect all patrons to conduct themselves courteously and to help us keep the Hall a welcoming environment for everyone.
Friends reserves the right to refuse admission or remove anyone whose behavior is unsafe, disruptive, or disrespectful.
